Kitt is a versatile, cross-curricular companion for the classroom and home. It behaves like a Flash memory stick. When connected to a computer, either via the supplied USB cable or a docking station (sold separately), teachers can drag and drop audio (workshop project or homework instructions, books read aloud, songs and poems to practise, personal messages, relaxation music, etc.), video and image files directly onto Kitt. These can then be viewed and/or listened to using the controls on Kitt's tummy. Data is stored to a supplied Micro SD card.

Kitt enables learners to work independently, engaging them to gather evidence of their progress. It can be customized to the needs of its user through adjusting the volume and brightness, controlling the haptic feedback and utilizing voice prompts. It is a friend the child can chat to and talk to about what they are doing, which provides comfort while reinforcing learning.
