Mazaam
François Mario Labbé, founder of the Analekta record company, and classical violinist Angèle Dubeau wished to give the gift of classical music to new generations. Thus was born Mazaam, the little musical genius who initiates preschoolers to the benefits of music through Mazaam Academy, the product of years of scientific research carried out by the Canada Research Chair in Music and Learning from Université Lava and Professor Jonathan Bolduc.

Mazaam Academy is:
? A progression of playful pedagogical activities designed specifically to reflect about music, move to the sound of music and feel emotions.
? A program which sparks creativity and enhances the development of musical, cognitive, language, social (including cooperation), affective and motor skills.
? 5 Music Boxes, each featuring an endearing animal to foster the discovery of 5 main musical parameters, including pitch (low- and high-pitched sounds, 40 musical works), tempo (slow and fast, 53 musical works), intensity (loud and soft, 71 musical works), timbre (wind and string instruments, 43 musical works), and harmony (harmonious or discordant organization, 49 musical works).
? 15 Games of increasing difficulty, 3 for each Music Box.
? More than 140 Classical Music Masterpieces featuring a great sound quality, performed by the greatest Canadian musicians, including violinist Angèle Dubeau, pianist Charles-Richard Hamelin and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

Activities are:
? Based on the new preschool education cycle program (2020).
? Simple and adapted for teachers with little or no musical knowledge.
? Offered on more than 24 online, numbered sheets, each clearly introducing the musical concept presented, the learning acquired (areas of the child's global development) and the preparation required (necessary materials and music to listen to).

Games:
? First guide children through visual clues which gradually disappear, to increasingly elicit their auditory attention. Very quickly, children are able to identify, associate and detect musical concepts.
? Promote the use of efficient strategies, the setting of priorities, the assessment of the best available option, and the adaptation to new and changing elements.

Mazaam Academy is offered in both English and French, for children 4 to 6 years old.
